Some of you might say that I'm being a bit too pessimistic about things. I'm sorry, but I'm not. I would call this as being realistic. Besides, I'm not seeing the negative side of the fact that life is unfair. Here's what I really think: life would be boring if it wasn't unfair.
I've mentioned that I've had a lot of ups and downs. A lot of people say that, I know. That statement is a little bit overused for life stories, or maybe for answers to questions about how your life is as of the moment. That statement, in my opinion, is one of the simplest answers you can give. Well, maybe next to "It's okay".
Back to the point: Life is unfair, but it would be really boring if it wasn't. The second you think that life is unfair, there's this part of you that wants to do something about it. There's also this part of you that would make you think that you're powerless because you can't do anything about it. Life is supposed to be like that. Imagine life where you just live without any problems. There would definitely a point in that problem-free life that would make you think that everything is too plain and simple. You will just live a life that goes to just a single direction. That's boring, if you ask me.
Even the luckiest person on Earth feels sad once in a while. [snapshot from Binbougami ga!] |
You have to learn how to accept that life doesn't always make you happy. Even if you think that you're the luckiest person on Earth, you're going to have to face a ton of hardship to become even luckier. You're going to have to work hard to get a lot more of those good stuff. There will always be someone in your way disrupting your luck. Don't think of them as obstacles; think of them as aids to making your life a lot more meaningful. They would actually make your life feel like some sort of an adventure. Life's like that where I work, and it's cool.
Something or someone could ruin your life, but not end it. [snapshot from Binbougami ga!] |
Earlier today, I was riding a bus. I would usually sit in the farthest possible seat by the window and sleep. I had a pretty good nap which last for about 30 to 40 minutes. I woke up when the bus was at the Ortigas flyover. When the bus reached Corinthian Gardens, it stopped. There were men who were running away with someone else's iPhone. No one was hurt badly, but that's a pretty huge blow to the phone owner's pocket. It's hard to think positive when you're the one who owns the phone, but there will come a time when you just have to accept that it happened. It's sad, but it can also serve as a good lesson for everyone. To the owner of the phone, I hope that you'll recover soon.
