Well, I'm starting this year with a new blog. I'm really late with the starting-the-year part, but I guess it's better late than never. You can still read my old posts at the Magique Tumblr. That's not going to disappear until Tumblr decides to take it down. I do hope that my move here to Blogger is going to make me a lot more active in writing.
How was 2012?
It's been one roller coaster (cliche) ride for me. The typical ups and downs were there, just like how people usually say it. The downs weren't as bad as a scar staying there for a long time, because there were always good stuff that erase everything that has gone wrong.
Let's take for example the delayed 13th month pay. Because of that, I still owe my Mom a lot of cash for that pocket money she lent me for that Singapore trip last November. Even if I had that debt, I still managed to get a lot of good stuff from it, like watching the AFA12 I Love Anisong Concert Days 2 and 3, and getting an autograph from May'n twice -- one on a postcard, and another one on a limited edition of one of her albums. High wallet damage, but definitely worth every penny for a few awesome pages in my memory.
Definitely worth it! Not the best picture taken, but definitely one of the best experiences ever!
I couldn't remember any more of the downs, but this year's pretty much about my friends. I've had a lot of happy times with my friends this year; not to mention a moment on stage with some of them in one band. It was an awesome experience, but I don't think we'll be together in that same group for a while. Well, maybe in a few get-togethers, but not on stage. Not that I don't want us to be together on stage anymore. Kudos to those who know about this!
Another awesome thing that happened in 2012 for me was becoming a member of Team X-Over! I got to be in a group where everyone plays the fighting games that I play, and organize fighting game events every now and then. It was awesome meeting you guys! Christmas 2012 was the best one I've ever had, simply because I got to spend the day with both sides of the family, plus I got to hang out with the people we've considered as a part of our family back when I was a kid.
I really wanted to do some sort of a 2013 forecast, but that's not really my thing. All I want to say is that we should just move forward. Cheesy and generic as it may sound, that's the best course of action one can take.
Why the new blog?
I wanted to try having a Blogger blog. I've done a bit of it at work, and I decided to do it for something personal. I've had a lot of fun time in Tumblr, but I haven't been active there since. I want to start something new, and hopefully maintain the momentum as I go forward. You'll be seeing a lot of the same stuff from the Magique Tumblr -- not the same posts, but the same theme.
So, I hope you'll have an awesome 2013! We've passed through the end of the world prophecy, so I don't see any reason why we have to feel so down. By the way, in the Mayans' defense, it just turned out that they were using a calendar system that does not loop around the same way as the calendar system we're using.
